Late fall, winter and early spring are the best times of the year to prune deciduous trees and shrubs for two main reasons:

1. They are dormant after their leaves drop and will not be stressed by severe pruning at that time. Many overgrown landscape plants can be severely reduced in size and will look more healthy and vigorous the following spring after winter pruning.
2. With no leaves on them, trees and shrubs reveal their shape and branching habit, allowing the arborist to prune not only for health, but for the aesthetic beauty of each plant. Crossing branches, double leaders and misshapen plants can be corrected and made to look better than ever. Mike is a true artist in this respect!
